Designing our Future with CAD for Schools
The study of computer aided design has significantly changed over the past decade and will continue to evolve in helping to decrease design cycle time and increase accuracy through collaboration. Furthermore, rapid prototyping through the use of 3D printing now enables designers to not only visualize the end product, but to actually grasp the end product in their hands, long before production begins, combining CAD and 3D printing.
CAD labs in technical schools have changed dramatically as well. Drafting tables have all but disappeared, making room for new computer stations and digital fabrication machines for makerspaces.
