STEM Lab Design Services

STEM Lab Design Services for Technical Schools and Colleges

A successful lab starts with a well-planned design for the space. Lab design influences student collaboration, instructor engagement, and the selection of appropriate equipment. Whether you are designing labs for new schools or looking to renovate existing spaces, AET Labs partners with educators and architects to provide specialized STEM lab design services.

STEM Labs We've Helped Design

AET Labs helps build labs that align with your vision for the school, the program's curriculum goals, workforce needs, and the realities of your space and budget.

We have experience designing many types of STEM labs for CTE high schools, community colleges, and university engineering programs, including:

  • Robotics
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Mechatronics
  • Metal Fabrication
  • HVAC
  • Health
  • Cosmetology
  • Makerspaces and Fab Labs
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering

We support lab expansions, small-shop buildouts, and brand-new lab construction.

Our STEM Lab Design Process

AET Labs helps schools maximize the potential of their STEM labs, ensuring students and teachers benefit from optimally designed and outfitted spaces for years to come.

Our process includes:

Planning

We'll lead discovery sessions to identify lab learning goals and vision. If it's a new program and no instructor has been hired yet, we can help review the curriculum goals and frameworks to contribute to the discussion.

Design CAD Layouts

We design CAD layouts or review existing layouts designed by architects. Layouts are critical for brand-new spaces and renovations. We take into account space planning for the expected number of students and the equipment to be in the lab.

MEP and Infrastructure Coordination

To eliminate last-minute construction and budget changes later in the process, we evaluate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing needs for lab equipment

Equipment Planning & Specification Guidance

Whether it's a new lab or renovation of an existing one, we provide recommendations for equipment to meet curriculum goals, student use, budget, industry expectations, and long-term maintenance needs.

Implementation Support

We handle procurement of equipment, technologies, and tools for the lab. We manage all logistics from storage and delivery to rigging and installation. We will also ensure your instructors are set up for success by providing training on any new equipment.

Decades of STEM Lab Experience

Our lab specialists have decades of hands-on experience with CTE and engineering education.

I am taking this opportunity to share my gratitude for Zach’s courteous service work on our uPrint SE plus. I enjoy just chatting with him. He’s a super nice guy and very knowledgeable, and able to assist me with GrabCad as well during this past visit.

I wish to inform you of my satisfaction with Zach’s work – beyond satisfaction – more like impressed with his professionalism. He kept in close touch with me to arrange his visit and offered options for upgrading and improving our CAD / 3D printing programming.

Randy McCormick, Drafting & CAD Instructor
Washington County Community College

I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful customer service/support I received today from one of your workers, Matt Campbell.

In my 30 or so years of teaching, I have never been as impressed with a salesperson/company as I was today.

Matt worked diligently, for hours, putting together all of my new equipment without pause. It would have taken me days to do what he did in a matter of a few hours. What a polite and hard working young man that you have working for you!

Thank you again for the excellent service. It was greatly appreciated.”

Cheryl DelSanto, Technology Education Teacher
Pilgrim High School

I just wanted to reach out and tell you how great it is to have Zach as our repair tech. He is professional and courteous and is ALWAYS available when I contact him.”

Joe Riddensdale, Drafting Instructor
Mount Washington Valley Career and Technical Center at Kennett High School

AET Labs provides excellent  sales and service: I can call them anytime I need assistance. They are my best source for equipment: no pressure, affordable and innovative solutions, flexibility, excellent follow through. The bottom line is that AET is just a great company to work with.

In 13 years of teaching, I have not found a  better vendor  to work with. They do not try to oversell  and they back up their sales with excellent service.
