Provides a basic understanding of a typical central air conditioning unit.
The Air Conditioner Skills Trainer includes the basic components of a typical air conditioning unit. The trainer includes a hermetic compressor, forced-air condenser, liquid receiver, filter dryer, moisture/liquid indicator, thermostatic expansion valve, blower-type forcedair evaporator, temperature controller, and pressure controller. The control panel includes a variable evaporator fan speed control, indicator light, compressor switch, power switch, and power breaker.
The system is designed to be assembled, tested, and disassembled by one or two students performing a series of tasks.
