If you were to put a design in your students’ hands, would they declare “I can make that better“?
AET Labs, Stratasys & GrabCAD are pleased to present the 5th annual New England Extreme Redesign 3D Printing Challenge. The 2019 “People’s Choice” semi-final event honors students from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont & Connecticut who are entering the global Extreme Redesign Challenge, or are simply looking to compete on a local level.
The challenge invites students to redesign an existing product to improve how a task is accomplished, or design something entirely new that addresses an unmet need. This is a quest to find the most creative, mechanically sound, and realistically achievable design using 3D printing. This year’s winning student/team will receive a MakerBot 3D Printer for their school! Additional cash prizes are up for grabs for our 2nd and 3rd place superstars!

Extreme Redesign New England: Competition Details:
Who can compete: The “People’s Choice” challenge is open to middle and high school students with an interest in innovation and STEAM disciplines – Art, Engineering and CAD design.
How to compete:
- Read and download the official rules on GrabCAD.com.
- Have your instructor register with AET Labs to reserve your spot: Each student or team must be sponsored by a teacher registered as an attendee at the Dig It. Fab It. Make It. event.
- Get to work on your innovative design creations!
- On May 17th students will showcase their redesign projects with brief, 2-minute presentations. All registered attendees at Dig It. Fab It. Make It. will have the opportunity to participate in the “Peoples Choice” judging process during the event. During closing remarks, AET Labs will announce the top three entries and award a MakerBot 3D Printer and valuable cash prizes.

Deadline to enter: May 1, 2019*
*Deadline to enter the worldwide Extreme Redesign Challenge is February 24, 2019. Students do not need to compete in the global event to participate in the New England challenge, however, we strongly encourage them to do so!
