Ready to dip your toe into the world of CNC machining?
Flat-pack furniture is a popular trend with industry and consumers and a great application for CTE instructors looking to acquire new skills, tips and projects to bring back to the classroom.
Please join AET Labs on July 16th & 17th for our inaugural CNC Furniture Making Workshop for New England instructors and learn how to use a CNC router to craft your very own custom stool!
This 2-day Workshop will teach you how to design for CNC fabrication, prepare the design to be milled out of plywood, and then make the parts on a Techno HD CNC router! We’ll be using Fusion 360 to design the stools and VCarve Pro to prepare the parts for milling, but no experience in either is needed. Topics covered will include:
- CNC joinery
- Design testing
- CAM toolpath strategies
- Material hold-down techniques
- Part finishing
When – July 16th & 17th
Where – Marlborough High School, 431 Bolton Street, Marlborough, MA 01752
Time – 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

*Price includes materials, food and beverages and a 10-hour certificate of professional development.
This workshop is suitable for makers of all levels from seasoned machinists to novice tinkerers, but space is limited to 10 instructors so early registration is encouraged!
